e-type is a touch-typing program endorsed by the British Computer Society (BCS) that teaches you to touch-type in a fun and easy way. Touch typing gives you additional freedom with your computer. You also become very "employable" due to the cost savings you can bring to work through your increased speed and accuracy at the computer.

The training courseware teaches you:

•Keyboard Lessons: The default course, it teaches the correct finger positioning and associated keys of the alpha-numeric keyboard in 10 structured lessons.

•Speed Challenge: Designed to help you reach your touch-typing goal.

•Accuracy Challenge: Press the correct key to move on.

•Advanced Challenge: Increases your typing speed.

•Punctuation Course: Teaches the most commonly used punctuation keys.

•Keypad Lessons: Teaches the numeric pad for data entry in three easy lessons.

The test is conducted online and awards three grades of certification. Each test unit contains three test attempts that awards:

•Bronze (20wpm with 98% accuracy).

•Silver (40wpm with 98% accuracy).

•Gold (60wpm with 98% accuracy).

You will be given a 5 minute "warm up" test prior to actual test that uses the same test procedure but with a different passage.
